C12: Photoswitchable Protein Kinase Inhibitors for Novel Anti-Cancer Applications (since 2015)

Summary:

The goal of this project is the development and biological characterization of photoswitchable small molecule protein kinase inhibitors. These compounds will be useful as novel photoswitchable pharmacological tools and for innovative therapeutic approaches with focus on anti-cancer applications. The interdisciplinary project involves molecular modeling, synthesis, photochemical characterization, in-vitro enzymatic and cellular assays, and analyzing the impact of optimized photoswitchable inhibitors on signal transduction in cancer cells.
