C05: Switchable, porous inorganic-organic hybrid compounds (2007-2011)

Summary:

The sorption of molecules on crystalline porous materials is governed by the diameter, geometry and chemical properties of the pores. This project aims at switching the sorption behaviour between two (meta)stable states and thus changing the free pore volume and the polarity by incorporating switchable molecules into the pore walls of microporous MOFs. This is to be demonstrated by means of the sorption behaviour of the switched states of gases and vapors of various polarity and size.
