A03: New spin crossover complexes for spin switching in solution and on surfaces

Summary:

In the next funding period we want to investigate new iron(II)- and manganese(II/III)- complexes for spin switching in solution based on LD-LISC- and LD-CISSS-behavior. Additionally, a new switching mechanism (hair-clip-design) will be developed. Furthermore, new spin crossover complexes with photoswitchable ligands will be attached by “click-chemistry” or the TATA-approach to Au(111)-surfaces. Based on the results of the last funding period new multinuclear Fe(salten)-complexes with different linker molecules will be synthesized for remote-switching-experiments (B07).
